The Philippine Center for Economic Development (PCED) was created on 15 March 1974 by Presidential Decree (PD) No. 453 with the primary responsibility of giving “…financial and moral support to the research, teaching, training, and other programs of the School of Economics, University of the Philippines.”
Based on this, the identified beneficiaries of PCED are the faculty members of the U.P. School of Economics to assist them in the performance and completion of their tasks as listed above.
